Exercise is important for your health, body and mind but it can also cause breakouts if you don't care for your skin before and after properly. Sweat and dirt clog pores, leading to breakouts.
Before your workout:
- Wash your face to remove any makeup or any impurities that may have accumulated throughout the day. You pores open up when you sweat, causing all the oil and impurities to seep into your pores. If you're exercising outside or near windows, make sure to wear sunscreen.
After your workout:
- Try to avoid touching your face. Bacteria from equipment or sweat can seep into your pores. To wipe off sweat, you can carry a clean towel or disposable wipes until you hit the shower or clean your hands and face.
- Remove dirty clothing from your workout as soon as possible, especially if you suffer from body acne. Dirty clothes can clog pores on your body and cause breakouts.
- Wash your face as soon as possible and follow your skincare regime.
Make sure to take care of your skin on your workout days so you can glow inside and outside!
